🔊 A Message From the Founder
This isn’t a sales page.
It’s a standard.
A reminder — to myself, and to the families we serve — of the quality we refuse to compromise on at inTuition Academy.
Why We Charge What We Do
(And Why It's Worth It)
01 — Platform
1. We Don’t Just Use Zoom
Zoom is solid.
Reliable one-to-one video. Screen sharing. Everyone knows how to use it.
And for a lot of tutors, it works well enough.
When we started, we weren’t sure we needed anything more either.
But then we asked a question that changed everything:
“If this were our own child’s future on the line — what would we use?”
That’s when we found Lessonspace — a live classroom built specifically for tutoring.
We didn’t switch because it looked impressive.
We switched because we were curious.
We wanted to know what wouldn’t just do the job —
but what would make us feel, if this were my own child,
that I’d done everything possible to help him succeed.
Because I couldn’t live with the idea of not doing the absolute best for him.
And we wouldn’t expect you to either.
It turned out to be a gamechanger.
What started with a standard Zoom call — with some good features —
quickly became something else entirely:
- A shared whiteboard for real-time problem solving
- Tabs to move between past papers, diagrams, and resources
- Scientific tools for equations, sketches, and visual thinking
- Full recording and playback of every single session
It’s not tech for the sake of it.
It’s a space that says: “this is where we take your learning seriously.”
Not “oh… another Zoom lesson.”
It’s the kind of platform that makes your child go:
“Oh. This actually helps. I didn’t even know I needed that.”

2. Every Lesson Is Recorded — For Your Child, and For Us
Your child can replay every session.
They can revise from it, pause and rewind it, revisit how they were taught.
They're never asking "wait what did the teacher say again?"
They simply login, replay the lesson, it all clicks.
They're not one-off lessons...
they are a playlist of videos your child can always return to when they're stuck.
But that’s only half the benefit.
These recordings also help us — as a team — keep tutors sharp.
We review sessions.
Give feedback.
Spot things early.
Push our standards forward.
When we say “your child’s lesson is being monitored,” we don’t mean by software.
We mean by real people who care about getting it right.
This is how we hold tutors accountable.
And how we make sure your child isn’t just being taught — they’re being guided.
03 — Tutors
3. The Kind of Tutor You’d Want as a Role Model
Every tutor we hire is:
- DBS-verified (your child is safe - guaranteed)
- UK-based (your child can relate)
- Educated to at least degree level (they know their stuff)
- Trained to teach (they can impart knowledge)
But we look for something more. We look for tutors who:
- Celebrate with your child when they succeed
- Empathise when they struggle
- And push them — kindly but clearly — to grow
Our tutors have sat the same exams your child is sitting
They know the system.
They get the slang.
They feel the pressure
They understand the world your child is growing up in.
They speak your child’s academic and emotional language.
That's what makes a student relax.
Actually ask questions.
Actually want to come back.
“If I wouldn’t trust them with my own kids, I wouldn’t hire them.”

4. We’ve Rejected Thousands of Tutors. On Purpose.
We’ve received thousands of applications over the years.
We’ve rejected over 90% of them.
Not because they weren’t smart.
Not because they didn’t care.
But because they weren’t ready to teach at the standard we demand.
They didn't fit my standard.
We only keep the ones who combine clarity, empathy, and presence.
Then we train them.
Review them.
And hold them to it — every week.
Your child’s education isn’t something we leave to chance.
It’s something we build with intention.
Why We Charge What We Do
When we launched, we set our rates at £20/hour.
We wanted to keep it affordable.
We hoped we could make it work.
And for a while, it looked like we could.
But the best tutors — the ones who cared deeply and performed consistently — didn’t stay for long.
They left for bigger opportunities.
And who could blame them?
These were high performers. Postgrads. Professionals. Future leaders.
The kind of people who could inspire your child — not just explain a topic.
We realised that if we wanted to build a system that lasts,
we needed to pay people what they’re worth.
So we raised our rates — not to become premium, but to retain excellence.
We’re not the cheapest.
We’re not extortionate.
We’re priced exactly where we need to be to protect the one thing that matters:
your child’s experience.
One Final Warning — From the Parents Who Came Too Late
Over the years, we’ve heard the same story far too many times:
- “We found someone cheaper who seemed okay...”
- “We thought any tutor would do...”
- “It didn’t feel urgent back then...”
And by the time they came to us, there was only a month or two left until the exams.
The confidence had already dropped. The wrong habits had already set in.
And the pressure was now stacked on the student — not the system that let them down.
We helped where we could.
But the truth is, the damage had already been done.
Don’t wait for that moment.
Don’t tell yourself “they’ll be fine for now.”
Don’t assume all tutors are the same.
And don’t wait until your child starts crumbling under pressure to take tutoring seriously.
If you’re here now, reading this — you already care enough to make a better choice.
You don’t need to overthink it.
You just need to take the step now — while there’s still time to build properly.
That’s Why We Built This
Even with the platform, the recordings, the tutors, the training — it still wasn’t enough.
Because my standard wasn’t just about quality.
It was about conviction.
I didn’t stop building until I’d created something I’d trust with my own child’s future.
Something that wouldn’t cut corners.Something that would hold us accountable before we ever held your child to anything.
That’s why we charge what we do.
That’s what we stand for.
That’s inTuition Academy.
